I was the Scout Executive of the Hiawathaland Council in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This is not a council blogsite. It is just my personal observations and experiences that might be of interest to Scouters. Dewey Jones

Great day outdoors for Scouting, Red Buck had a very well attended Klondike Derby with over 125 registered. Our Klondike theme was "Legends of the Klondike", where we brought back some old time Scout skills like Semafore. Troop 466 opened the day with raising of the flag, using former Scouter Dave Scheriff's personal flag. Another thing to note in the photos is the nice "Klondike Derby" sign made for Red Buck by Bill Gerber who is now in an old folks home downstate.
