Troop 309 Court of Honor

Sunday evening, Troop 309 was having a Court of Honor in the neighborhood, so I attended. There were 10 rank advancements and over 60 merit badges presented for work during the school year. Travis and Blake, shown with Scoutmaster Al Feldhauser and Webelos Leader Bill Thompson (L) received the Arrow of Light and "crossed over" into the troop.

Cub Fun

Pack 201 in Houghton had a Cub Fun Day on Saturday. Buddy and I got there in time for some of the activities and a foil dinner. Buddy licked a lot of aluminium foil. The picture shows Scout families on the "hose trail," that followed the water hose coming into camp. Thanks to Bob and Charlene Page and Matt Ashburn for putting together a fun day.

A Certificate in appreciation of.....

Marv Gibson (center) is the NESA chair for the council and arranges for recognition certificates from the military, veterans groups, and public officials to be presented to Eagle Scouts. One of the groups is the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. The group wanted to present Marv a certificate as an Eagle Scout and in appreciation for his work in giving out certificates. Also shown is Dave Jenner who recently completed his 60th year of Scouting. Gary White, commander of the Albert and James Lyon Camp #266 of the SUVCW, is on the right.

Progress at Camp

Buddy and I went to camp to help a little with the projects going on there. The contractors are on track with the shower house. The shower heads and electrical wiring are now in the stalls so they look like shower stalls instead of solitary confinement cells.
Doc Jewell, Bill Davis, Dan Closner, and Steve Lindahl were at work putting in posts for barrier ropes.
Buddy had a great time with Doc's dog.
