High Marks and Praise

We had both the Boy Scout Area Visitation Team and the State of Michigan inspection on the first full day of camp. Camp Hiawatha met all the applicable standards for the BSA camp visitation and was in full compliance with the regulations of the Department of Human Services. Congratulations to Camp Director Joe Erickson, Program Director Sam Ledabuhr, and Assistant Camp Director Mike Alberts and the entire staff. Also shown is Council President Don Miller (left) and visitation team leader Jay Sherwood (center).

Eagle Scout Kevin Gould

New Eagle Scout Kevin Gould of Troop 411 is shown with his mentor, former Scoutmaster Don Fitch and the mischevious Paddy Fitch. Kevin's Eagle project was landscaping around the sign at his school.

Rolling into Camp Hiawatha

As Susan and I left Camp Hiawatha after the board retreat, we encountered Troop 466 which had just turned on to Doe Lake Road as they bicycled from Gladstone to Camp. Morale was high with the troop.

Board Retreat

Judy Watson Olson of the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development led a day long board retreat in the Snowshoe Village.
