A visit from Curley

Scouting legend Curley Verville of Iron River visited Camp Hiawatha for an afternoon. Curley became Scoutmaster after returning from World War II and took troops to camp for 54 consecutive years. He is shown visiting old friends at camp: Biff Ahlman, Chuck Suckow, Doc Bender, and Sue Erickson. While touring the kitchen with Sue, he volunteered to replace the 25 year old refrigerator in memory of his wife Betty.

Camp Visitation

Camp Director Joe Erickson and Program Director Sam Ledebur did a great job of preparing the camp. The camp visitation team from the Area found the camp to be in total compliance. Joe is shown with visitation team chair Fred Bond and Council President Don Miller

A great Youth Leader Training Course

I visited the closing for the National Youth Leader Training course. There was a great spirit among the 25 participants and the top notch staff.
