Around Camp

The plumbers and electricians are doing their thing finishing the shower house project at camp. It was a beautiful day for a drive to camp.

Dick Oslund was in camp getting ready for things. Doc and Ginny have arrived although they were in town while I was there.

The Gilwell Oak seedling survived the winter, but doesn't look to healthy yet.

Eagle Project

National Annual Meeting

The National Meeting of the BSA was in late May in sunless Orlando, Florida. We had about 12" of rain in the 3 days we were there.

Don Fitch of Troop 411 in Escanaba was one of 43 "Distinguished Scoutmasters" in the United States that the National Council hosts at the meeting. They are recognized and give input to program committees at national. Don is the quintessential Scoutmaster.

At the meeting, they introduced the 2,000,000th Eagle Scout. He is Anthony Thomas from the Northern Star Council in Minneapolis/St Paul. I saw him in the hall at the meeting and took a picture of him with a Scouter he was talking with.

The meeting was very good. The national leadership is giving leadership!

Eagle Scout Jacob Dominick

Attended a very well done Eagle Court of Honor in Munising for Jacob Dominick of Troop 332.

The Eagle sculpture was on loan for the C o H and is for sale for $2,000 by a Munising artist.
